Central West End Family Photos

I think any mom can relate to this. One day you realize your five year old’s baby teeth are getting extra wiggly and suddenly you panic at the thought that you haven’t documented that sweet smile enough. That’s what brought the Tully family my way and I’m so happy they did. Having just made the big move from California back home to Saint Louis, I was excited to capture the girls at some local spots. We started at the Jewel Box in Forest Park and ended the session at Jeni’s Ice Cream in the Central West End. Safe to say by the amount of ice cream on their clothes at the end, I think they had a great time.

Modern Family Photos in Kirkwood Park

When my good friend Jill asked me to capture her cute family for their holiday card I was so excited. And immediately nervous. For some crazy reason I feel more stress before a family photo session than I do for a wedding. Maybe it’s because most people don’t spend the money to have professional photos taken after they get married. And the pressure to capture a family, where all four members are happy, increases immensely when there are two kiddos under two. Yes, there were tears, a puffs snack break, and a hilarious moment at the end when someone needed a moment of privacy. But these guys were cool as cucumbers.

I love this little family so I may be a biased towards how the session turned out. But I think we were able to capture them just as they are: easygoing, fun, and stylish.

Thank you Milyard family! I’m so happy we get to raise our babies together.

Stylish Family Photo Shoot STL

When I first met Erika and Tim for our initial consultation in the Central West End at Taste to have drinks [and that mouth watering corn bread], I knew we’d have to return during their engagement + fall family photo shoot this fall. And when I heard that Tim’s daughter Anne first met Erika years ago at the Balloon Glow in Forest Park, I had an idea to surprise Anne with. What 6 year old [okay, or 30 year old] doesn’t love a giant balloon? And after their bellies were full of french fries and wine, we continued their engagement session in the Central West End. Check out the rest of their photos here.
